What is a Podiatrist?

"The human foot is a masterpiece of engineering and a work of art."

Leonardo da Vinci

A podiatrist is a highly skilled health professional who is trained to prevent, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs.

We prevent and correct foot deformities, reduce pain, treat infections and keep people as active as possible.

What is the difference between a "chiropodist" and a "podiatrist"?  Well, technically they are the same thing and we are registered with the HCPC as Chiropodists/Podiatrists.  Most countries no longer use the term "chiropodist", and the change in title reflects that our scope of practice extends beyond "just" corns and toenails (although we are still pretty good at that too).

We also sell a range of foot cream, silicon appliances and other helpful items in the clinic.

"I have known Hannah for many years and have always been more than happy with how she looks after my feet. I have terrible cracked heels and she always says 'I have dealt with much worse in Australia'. Other people always 'tut' when they see my feet. Always a smile on her face and nothing is too much trouble."
